About Me

I started learning Swift in 2021 when I decided it was time for a career change. I’m so glad I did. There’s nothing like the feeling of finally making a feature work properly or nailing the logic of an algorithm.

I received a certificate in iOS Programming from the University of California, San Diego in 2022.

I built an app, which is available on the App Store. It’s my take on the classic card game, Set, built from scratch with my own custom algorithms, interface, hints system, and online multiplayer functionality. I bit off more than I could chew with it, and it was the best thing for my development. For some reason, it seems to be a hit in South Korea, with over 500 downloads there in the past half year.

I spent four months as an iOS Developer Intern at Orlando O. Spencer, Inc. The company makes software for the aviation industry that serves pilots, instructors, and aviation institutions. I worked on their S61C app, which connects aviation students with instructors, provides FAA documentation, and serves as a sort of social platform for aviation enthusiasts as well. There are a ton of features, and I got to work on a number of them.

From there, my wife and I collaborated on an app called Color Me Natural, which is made from my grandma’s natural food coloring cookbook from the 1970s! It was so much fun, and the UI is one of my favorite parts. Users can even submit their own natural food recipes. Also, it made my grandma very happy.

Most recently, I was contracted by Aiwyn, a company that makes AI software for accounting firms, to create their events app, Aiwyn Events. It’s largely informational, but it features account registration and chat functionality accomplished via Google Firebase. I appreciate them providing me the opportunity to make it for them.
