Growing up, I’d known my grandma had published a natural coloring cookbook with a friend back in the 70s, so when I was looking for my next project, I thought I’d surprise her by bringing it to a new audience in the form of an app. I struggled to nail down the right UI, but my brilliant wife, a graphic designer and artist, whipped one up in no time. You can get it now on the App Store.
Look at that UI! I love it. Since the book is about naturally colored foods, it had to be colorful. You swipe side to side to switch categories. Every single recipe has a bespoke illustration.
Ingredients and instructions can be played aloud for enhanced accessibility, either individually or sequentially. Sections can be collapsed for convenience.
Users can even submit their own natural food recipes! Uses Google Firebase on the back end for registration and recipe storage.
